Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and develop the business of Cork Racecourse Mallow, utilizing a range of marketing, sales, promotional and digital activities
  • Implement, optimise and monitor a range of digital marketing activities developing highly engaging content strategies across the website and digital channels to support upcoming racemeetings and events
  • Using a range of activities increase sales of hospitality packages to targeted businesses, corporate, hotels, clubs, conferences/fundraisers
  • Contribute to the planning, implementation and measurement of marketing campaigns including promotions, advertising, photocalls and launches with post event evaluations
  • Secure sponsors for events and manage the partnership before, during and after the event to ensure expectations are met and the sponsorship potential is maximized
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, sponsors and event partners
  • Maintain the Seat Advisor system and be responsible for all ticketing and sales activity
  • Ensure all activity is carried out in line with company policies and procedures and aligned with specific budgets
  • Become a valuable member of the raceday and events team


The Person Should Have:

A third-level qualification (preferably marketing) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.  Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.  A self-starter with strong attention to detail and excellent computer skills specifically in presentation and database packages.  Digital marketing competence with a clear understanding of mobile and social integration.  Event management experience with excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask working on own initiative and to deadlines.  Flexibility in relation to working hours and weekends since racing is a seven day business.  Knowledge of the industry would be an advantage but is not essential.
